St. Vincent De Paul and Ulmer's Auto Care Partner on Oil Change Promotion
CINCINNATI – July 11, 2008
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) Cincinnati Thrift Stores is partnering with Ulmer’s Auto Care, with locations in Anderson and Milford, on “The Oil Change That Gives Back” Program. Ulmer's will donate $ 5.00 from every oil change performed in August to SVDP Thrift Stores.
“We are thrilled to partner with Ulmer’s in support of our thrift stores. Ulmer’s has an outstanding reputation, and their long-standing commitment to the community shows in what they do everyday,” said Prentice Carter, Director of Store Operations for St. Vincent de Paul.
Ulmer’s Auto Care has chosen St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores as a partner to further serve the local communities of Anderson and Milford. “SVDP has Thrift Stores located near both Ulmer’s locations. Offering this month-long promotion is a win-win for customers. The oil changes will help their cars run more efficiently, and the charitable donations help us give back to our local neighbors in need,” says Bryan Kauffeld, Service Manager, of Ulmer’s Auto Care.
Both Ulmer’s locations will also have SVDP Thrift Store blue donation boxes for anyone who wants to drop off clothing or household items. “While customers are bringing their cars in, they can bring in items they no longer need, and drop them right in the box,” noted Kauffeld. Ulmer’s Auto Care Centers are located in Anderson at 6389 Salem Road on the corner of Salem and Beacon Roads and in Milford at 700 Lila Avenue at the Five Points intersection where State Route 28 and State Route 50 connect.  Proceeds from sales at all six Hamilton County SVDP Thrift Stores support the organization’s mission of local neighbors helping neighbors. Staff and volunteers conduct home visits throughout Greater Cincinnati and often see people in the most dire circumstances -- parents needing a crib for a newborn baby, families who have lost everything they own to a fire or foreclosure or children needing school clothes or a coat to stay warm. Families in need are given vouchers to shop free at the stores. The thrift stores also offer a way for all Greater Cincinnati residents to simultaneously stretch their dollars and help the needy.
