Cincinnati Area Repair Shop Owners (CARSO) Unite for 4th Annual “Give the Girls a Brake” Campaign

10% of all sales of brake pads and shoes throughout October benefits the Karen Wellington Foundation’s mission to bring joy to women battling cancer

CINCINNATI, Ohio (DATE) – For the fourth year in a row, The Cincinnati Area Repair Shop Owners (CARSO) will rally the Greater Cincinnati community through their annual “Give the Girls a Brake” campaign this October to support women battling cancer.

For the month of October, participating CARSO members – including Ulmer’s Auto Care, Donovan’s Auto & Tire Center, Pohlman’s Auto & Tire Center, Community Car Care, Snyder’s Car Care, Wyoming Automotive, Dubwerx and Avid Autocare – will provide 10% of profits from every brake pad and shoe sold. Customers will still be responsible for the labor and any additional parts (such as rotors). At the end of the month, each location will donate 10% of brake service sales (shoes and pads) to the Karen Wellington Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to sending women and families affected by cancer on unforgettable trips and experiences.

Since the program’s launch three years ago, CARSO shops have donated more than $125,000 to the Karen Wellington Foundation.

“’Give the Girls a Brake’ is about coming together as an industry to make a difference in the lives of women and families in our community,” said Bryan Kauffeld, CEO of Ulmer’s Auto Care.

“Our customers can feel confident on the road, knowing their car is safe, and that by supporting local businesses in the community they are helping support an incredible organization that brings joy to those who need it most,” said Dale Donovan, CEO of Donovan’s Auto & Tire Center.

Additionally, throughout October, participating shops will light their buildings in pink, and their teams will wear pink apparel to raise awareness for the campaign. The effort will end with a check presentation to The Karen Wellington Foundation in early November.
